Learning to Human is an award-winning solo theatre show created and performed by Sims Holland.

Developed over seven years with director and producer David McCusker, the show premiered in Los Angeles at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre before touring New York City, Colorado, and Texas, earning multiple awards along the way, including a recent Special Honor from the Austin Theatre Critics Awards.

Blending storytelling, clown, stand-up, and poetry, Learning to Human charts a rollercoaster journey from the depths of addiction to the challenging—and often hilarious—road to sobriety. While rooted in Holland's personal experience, the show speaks to anyone who has ever faced loss, grief, illness, addiction, or an unexpected turn in life.
